so, today in class the kids got to choose some song lyrics to analyze as poetry. and this one kid, let's call him tommy for anonymity's sake, chose queen's timeless classic, we will rock you.
tommy is earnest, kind-hearted, and hard-working. worried that he's not understanding part of the assignment, he calls me over in the middle of class to see if he correctly identified the theme of the song:
"The big dog is going to rock the world with songs out of this world."
oh yes, tommy. yes indeed.
